About This Novel
The young and beautiful Eleanor Carlyle stood calmly in the dock. She was the niece of Mrs. Wellman, the mistress of H Manor, and was accused of murdering her love rival, Mary Gerard, the daughter of the porter of H Manor. The evidence is conclusive: Eleanor prepared the fatal lunch, and only she had the motive and timing to commit the crime. However, only one person in this hostile court still believes that Eleanor is innocent until proven guilty. Hercule Poirot stands between Eleanor and the gallows...

Not as attractive as the Orient Express and the Nile Massacre
Very good
I like the plot, it's very twisty and touching, it's great to watch
good ending
Roses have no thorns. I saw kind-hearted and generous people in mystery novels and I didn't know if they were just pretending. Fortunately, I caught the real culprit and welcomed a new life.
Grandma's unpopular book, but I still like it
[Poirot Series] The beginning is the courtroom, which is quite interesting. The cases and emotional lines (not Poirot's) are very delicate, and there are many places where you can see the life of ordinary people in Britain at that time. There is a trick that is very common in Japanese mysteries, but Grandma had already written it out at the time, which was a surprise.
My evaluation of this book is still good. The plot is quite rich and there is no obstacle in reading it. Although this book is a detective suspense novel, it also tells us that you may like some people, just like Roddy in the novel, but this is just like, not love. The essence of love is to bring real relief and happiness to others.
