Mask Villa
About This Novel
Every time I thought I was close to the truth, I turned to the next page and found another surprise. Only when you read the end will you understand the true meaning of the title. At the same time, "Masked Villa" is not just a brain-burning mystery novel. After reading it, you can understand the huge love buried deep in your heart. Perhaps it is precisely because of such a rich reading experience that Orihara Kazuo, winner of the Japan Mystery Writers Association Award, listed "Masked Villa" among his top three works by Keigo Nakano. As in previous summers, the Morisakis invited relatives and friends to the villa to escape the summer heat. Unexpectedly, the calm was broken in the early morning of the next day. Two armed men broke into the villa and hijacked eight people present. Everyone kept trying to save themselves: using the very short time they were out to write distress signals, using timers to control the switch to cause a short circuit... But they all failed because someone was secretly causing trouble. On the morning of the third day, a hostage was found lying in a pool of blood, and the murderer could not be the kidnapper. Everyone realized that there was someone more terrifying than the kidnapper among them.

The book makes you think about the cause of death of the deceased
I once loved - [Masked Villa] Gao Zhi
Fate is so wonderful. He was accidentally rear-ended while driving. Fortunately, he was not injured, but the person who rear-ended him was seriously injured. He went to see that person with good intentions, but showed his sincerity in conversations again and again. He was determined to express his feelings to her, and coincidentally, that person also liked him. They are together. But fate is so teasing. He meets his girlfriend's cousin and his heart suddenly beats for her. And after getting along several times, he keenly discovered that the cousin was also interested in him. When the cousin blessed his wedding to his girlfriend, and when the cousin told him in a subtle way that she liked him but decided never to see him again, he suddenly made a decision that could destroy a person's life. He replaced his soon-to-be-married girlfriend's medicine with sleeping pills. He hoped that his girlfriend would die in an abnormal way so that he could be with his cousin. The development of things was both within his expectation and unexpectedly. His girlfriend died, but she committed suicide to fulfill his wish. His girlfriend loves him more than he thought, but he only loved her once. He could no longer be with his cousin, but he also lost the person who loved him most.
People have hundreds of sides, good and evil are unclear
I can only say that it's amazing. Although I probably guessed the real culprit, I didn't expect that the real culprit had already been discovered. The mask was hung high in front of the door beam, and the face was weird and shocking. It was a good show in the villa, and no one said anything after watching it.
Keigo Higashino's books never disappoint. Only after seeing the ending did I really understand why this book is called "Masked Villa". That devil with a mask must live in the shadows for the rest of his life.
Oh my god, am I the only one who feels scared after watching this?
unfulfilled malice
As I watched it become more and more awkward later on, I wondered if I had missed any details. After the finale, I didn't feel that I was enjoying myself. Instead, I felt that it was anticlimactic. There were many details at the beginning, but Uncle Higashino took over the setting in the end. The setting for scum for scum's sake was really bad. . . And such illogical whitewashing? I understand Uncle Higashino you want to give unexpected surprises, and you hope to still maintain quality despite publishing works so frequently, but just like this novel, it is ingenious enough but not ingenious enough.
marvelous
After reading a lot of Higashino's books, I was prepared for the idea that the protagonist might also be the murderer. But when I saw that the protagonist was always concerned about Tomomi, who was killed, I began to waver. It didn't feel like the protagonist, and the others didn't seem like it. In the end! It turned around! It was all staged! It was so shocking. Not long ago, I was worried about their safety... But... Well, after knowing the truth, I also felt that the male protagonist... Tomomi really loved him. . . But he was heartbroken and committed suicide. But she wanted to protect him before she died. What a good woman! In the end, the mask disappeared, and the male protagonist found that someone was looking at him but there was no one at all. It was really evocative... Does it mean that the mask of kindness in the male protagonist's heart has been taken away to reveal his original heart? Or is it that the male protagonist has to start a new life? And there are people looking at him, but no one is there. I think it must be a question of conscience... It is probably very thought-provoking. Blow this book up! Want to get into a scam again? So that's it! It's so beautiful.
