The Curious Case of Rye
About This Novel
Mr. Fortesco's old life was quite unstable in his later years: in business, he had disagreements with his eldest son, and poor financial arrangements caused him a lot of losses; in the family, the younger son had been away overseas for many years, his second wife always had affairs with other men in the name of playing golf, and his daughter also fell into unreliable love affairs; in life, his experience in mining in Africa made him enemies, and the corpses of black thrushes that appeared in front of him from time to time hinted at the lingering ghosts of the Avengers. Finally, the old Fortesco was poisoned to death in his office. The poison taxine seems to have come from his mansion "Yew House". A series of murders frightened the Fortesco family. Miss Marple discovered that the murderer actually acted according to a nursery rhyme.

Pretty good! ! ! ! ! ! ! Very pretty
The ending is unexpected, but it makes sense. But what's interesting is that my grandma has written about many handsome and charming male murderers, so much so that when I read about the appearance of such characters, I unconsciously doubt them. This may also represent my grandma's point of view: "Handsome men are often unreliable." Haha
Finished reading
The nursery rhyme is a bit interesting, with fancy killing techniques. It's still for profit, but this kind of deceptive emotion is used to kill people with a knife. The murderer is really a PUA scumbag
At first I thought I was reading a pirated book, but Miss Marple didn't appear until the middle of the book. The murder case was as suspenseful as ever and Miss Marple's witty response, coupled with Officer Neil's excellent narration, made it a breath of fresh air in detective novels.
Beautiful,,,, wonderful
The murderer deserves to die, the murderer deserves to die!
The lovely Miss Marple, I have been in love with her since she was very young
Like the extraordinary Poirot, Miss Marple always sees everything!
Perhaps due to the background of the time or the national culture, some of the translated texts are a bit difficult to understand, but the plot arrangement and results are unexpected. The seemingly disorganized clues are finally concluded through reasoning. Although Lance is not asked to describe the motivation and process details of the crime to confirm the conclusion, nor is it described how to bring Lance to justice, we can still imagine the final outcome.
