Yellow Claw
About This Novel
The book tells the story of a battle of wits between Gaston Max, a Paris detective who is good at disguise, and Mr. King, a cunning criminal. In the opening scene of the novel, the famous writer Henry Leroux is interrupted by a beautiful and fur-clad uninvited guest while he is writing late at night. This mysterious woman has just escaped from Mr. King and died in the writer's home that night. In the tortuous investigation of the woman's identity in the first part of the book, the author does not mention that Mr. Jin is a Chinese at all, and there is no hint about how he strangled the woman wearing furs... Mr. Jin in the novel has many similarities with the classic image of Fu Manchu created by the previous author. The work was adapted into a movie of the same name shortly after its publication.
