About This Novel
The girl poisoned her mother to death because of love, destroyed herself and her family, and her ethics and life were no match for worldly desires. If she could live her life over again, would she be able to find a way out? Thirty years ago, seventeen-year-old Huaizhu added a spoonful of rat poison to her mother's soup and poisoned her mother to death because her mother strongly opposed her falling in love with Xu Pingjun, a second-rate man from the city. Huaizhu was sentenced to death. On the day of execution, a broken truck drove her through the south of the city to Mazhao Ridge. Neighbors who had watched her grow up stood on the roadside in the south of the city and watched. They saw Huaizhu's immature body tied up like a rice dumpling with hemp ropes, crying all the way, her little face turned pale. When the truck passed by her house, she twisted her neck and shouted sadly, "Grandma, please help me! Grandma, please help me!" Several elderly grandmothers softened their hearts first and lamented that Huai Zhu was still a naive child and did not know what death was like. Now they thought of their grandmother and saved her life.
