The Man Behind the Curtain (a Collection of Classic Stories by Hitchcock, the Master of Suspense)
by Li Jing
About This Novel
Hitchcock's comment about the murderer is a typical indication of his attitude towards this kind of people. He said: "People often think that criminals are very different from ordinary people. But as far as my personal experience is concerned, criminals are usually quite mediocre people and very boring. They are more featureless and less interesting than the law-abiding people we encounter in our daily lives. Criminals are actually quite stupid people, and their motives are often very simple and tacky." Hitchcock believed that people are very fragile and they cannot withstand temptation.

Not bad, it's about the other side of human nature, where beauty and ugliness are no longer important!
