About This Novel
Frosty day, early in the morning. The light green river water is crystal clear and gurgling. A large boat transporting government supplies was sailing down the river. Two old boatmen stood precariously at the bow and stern of the boat, one holding the oar and the other holding the pole. This ship is not small. The front cabin and the back cabin are full of grain bags, and there is still a small open space on the deck of the front cabin. In this way, some people who traveled far away and wanted to save money came to the Central Boat Service to give them a ride. The two old boatmen were also happy to make some extra money. Depending on the distance, each of them could pay from a few cents to less than half a pound, so a grain ship was used as part of a passenger ship. The boat was not moving smoothly, and the four or five people on board were shaken awake early in the morning. After eating dry food, they had nothing to do and sat around on the deck. The passengers and the two old boatmen at the bow and stern chatted with each other.
