About This Novel
In "The Blade," Matthew Scudder walks through the doors of Alcoholics Anonymous. He was entrusted to find a girl who had been missing for three weeks. There was no progress in the case. The girl disappeared like air. She keeps to herself, but doesn't spend much time in her suite. Where could she go if she was so lonely? Will she go to the park and talk to the pigeons? At the same time, Eddie, a friend of the Alcoholics Anonymous Association, was found hanging in his residence by Scudder before he could express his thoughts. This book won the 1990 Shamus Award for Novel.
