The unlucky Starkweather lost direction in the fog and drove his car into a ditch. He could only walk to a nearby house to ask for help, but unexpectedly he stepped into the scene of the murder - the hostess Laura Warwick was standing next to her dead husband, holding a gun tightly in her hand...
