About This Novel

This is a long mystery novel by Keigo Higashino, a famous master of physical novels. Set on a ski resort in a snowstorm, it tells the story of a boy who is suddenly accused of being a murderer and uses reasoning and self-rescue in order to clear the suspicion. The author combines rigorous logical reasoning with fast-paced skateboarding to give readers a tense reading experience. It's still Mr. Higashino, with a tight rhythm and a direct touch to people's hearts. There is no bloody violence, but it makes people think about human nature. --If you are in danger, who will be the person who will risk everything to save you? A police department who was forced to work overtime after a business trip. A young man gets involved in the mysterious murder of his ex-boss after being fired. All trouble seems to start from the moment the employment contract is signed. Endless tasks and requirements, endless sleeping in the police station; accidentally killing the boss's dog, and accidentally killing the boss too. Misfortune always comes suddenly, and we always indulge in it, complaining why it is me. "No reason" may be the biggest joke in life.

Five points of soul

When he is mistaken for the murderer, and almost everyone thinks that the protagonist is the murderer, his friends can help him at all costs, because his friends are people with flesh and blood and soul. Likewise, Police Officer Kosugi will still have his own ideas and choices under the firm orders of his superiors. When we are influenced by strong forces, if we can maintain our own nature, even if it is only five points, we can show our value. We should believe at all times that you are the protagonist.

The author (Keigo Higashino) is so prolific, I feel like I can't even keep up with the speed at which he writes books😯
