Ruby Trap
About This Novel
Aidan Carver looked the detective straight in the eye. Although there were only two of them sitting in the dimly lit and cold interrogation room, Aidan knew very well that there was an audience outside the double-sided glass. "What's going on, Aidan?" Detective Lachance of the Paris Police Department asked coldly. "As I said, I don't know how that damn necklace got to me. Last night, Gia Venturi showed up in my hotel room wearing this ruby necklace, and I have no idea why she didn't take it with her when she left." "Is this the same Gia Venturi that the insurance company hired you to investigate two weeks ago?" Lachance asked sarcastically. Aidan nodded. Lachance asked again, "If I remember correctly, you proved that her apartment was burglarized, the jewelry she was not wearing that night was indeed stolen, and you ruled out the suspicion of fraud, and now you are telling me that she was setting you up?" Lachance raised his eyebrows.
