Ayatsuji Kyoujin 01: Jukkaukan Incident
About This Novel
A group of seven people from the university's reasoning club came to Tsunoshima, where the "Ten Kakukan" built by the talented designer Nakamura Seiji is located. A few years ago, Nakamura Seiji's family died mysteriously; now, scenes of murder are being staged one after another among this group of college students! Who can prevent the tragedy of "no survivors" from happening again? Perhaps, only the man named "Shimada Kiyoshi" can solve the mystery in "Jukkakukan".

Hard to describe in one word
The plan was shaky and the motives were naive. The murderer relied entirely on luck that no one would find out. The murder process was really busy.
If I'm not mistaken... The presence of "Fan" on the island doesn't seem to be very high? It should have been deliberately downplayed when writing.
Got first place.
It's easy to guess the murderer, but it's hard to see the other side. Very clever narrative misdirection.
I feel like Japanese detective stories are weird in a certain way.
I saw that Jiangnan and Monk found the boarding place at least on the third to fourth day. Why not just go to the island to confirm everyone's safety? Or is it that the so-called detectives are just expecting events and don't care about human lives?
The author also likes the Ellery Queen novel series. It is mentioned in the first chapter that famous mystery novelists will read classic works and be inspired by them. Therefore, the pseudonyms of Ellery Quinn, Allen Poe, and Agatha Christie will appear in the novel.
Interlocking and fascinating
The writing is concise and the inner description of the characters is profound, making you think deeply after reading it.
Jukkaokan Analysis
Perhaps if this ending had not been revealed, it might have remained unsolved. From the reader's perspective, it was actually impossible to predict. I was surprised by this ending. I could not have predicted it.
Since I didn't follow the detective's perspective, I felt that the protagonist's image was erratic, a bit nihilistic and a bit confusing. I'll tell you about it in the next book.
Crime from the murderer's perspective
It can be regarded as a novel written to complete the criminal ingenuity. However, the structure is not friendly to readers who want to participate in solving the case.
