This book is the second part of amateur female detective Forman, the first being "Appreciation of Murder". The murder of longshoreman Gianny Santoro's girlfriend has recently made headlines in Chicago. Most Chicagoans thought he was guilty; Eli Foreman, however, was skeptical-he looked familiar. So she looked up a piece of discarded video material, which was taken during the time of the crime and belonged to a video she was making. It was in this piece of information that Avery found evidence of Santoro's alibi, which would have exempted him from jail; however, the tape was somehow interfered with by wireless signals, and although the footage proved that Santoro was not at the scene, Santoro was still sentenced to jail.
