About This Novel
Keigo Higashino's novel, published in simplified Chinese for the first time, writes about the darkness and beauty of human nature from a suspenseful incident. How can a stage play without a script allow seven actors to risk their entire lives? Seven actors came to a B&B to rehearse an unscripted stage play for four days. They have to pretend to be trapped in an isolated mountain villa due to heavy snow. As long as they contact the outside world, they will be disqualified from participating in the show. On the first night, actress Atsuko disappeared. On the second night, actress Yuri Jiang disappeared. Everyone just thought it was the director's arrangement, but they found a bloody vase that shouldn't have been there, and they were immediately confused: Could it be that this was not an act at all, but that someone really wanted to kill them? Everyone began to suspect each other and quarrel fiercely. I read it in one day. The process was frightening, but the ending was surprising because it was perfect. I even wanted to cry a little because I was so moved. In my opinion, this novel is very exciting and whets my appetite. The ending is unexpected and overturns all my previous assumptions. Like!

How terrible can one person's jealousy be? It can be serious enough to drive you to kill your best friend, and it can change a person beyond recognition. Yamei is an actor and very capable, but God is fair. While she has the capability, she is deprived of her beautiful appearance. So she wasn't pretty, at best she was pretty. She thought she could live a good life with her own efforts, but during those years of hard work, she gradually discovered that she had misunderstood. In the actor industry, good looks are more popular than strength. She finally started to feel jealous when she saw that three of her friends were chosen by the director one after another, but she was not chosen. It started as a small prank, puncturing a friend's car tire, but it didn't escalate to anything serious. But when her friends cheated on her and made her feel guilty, she had an accident and lost the ability to stand and walk. She began to hate them. She was still cruel to her three good friends. She wanted them to die in front of her one by one. From mild jealousy at the beginning to strong hatred later, it has to be said that sometimes jealousy is really the original sin.
This story is so well designed that I kept my heart pounding nervously throughout the whole process until I saw the end... Keigo Higashino always makes people feel the seeds of hope at the end.
