He planned to send it to the U. S. Embassy. On the way, he was discovered by the Japanese army, was injured, and took away the blood evidence. Later, dock worker Jiang Long, Chinese doctor Qiao Ziqin from the Christian Hospital, Communist guerrilla captain Chen Ming, and patriotic Kuomintang officers, and others, along with James, tried every means, were not afraid of bloodshed and sacrifice, and went through untold hardships to finally regain the blood certificate and send it to the U. S. Embassy, adding an undoubted piece of evidence to the Nanjing Massacre created by the Japanese army.
