About This Novel
Two months ago, when the pink and white cherry blossom petals were sweeping across the Meguro River, I became Shoko Watanabe's fourth husband. After living to the age of thirty-nine, he finally said goodbye to his dilapidated single apartment in the suburbs of Tokyo and moved into Shoko's high-end villa near Ginza. Shoko is eleven years older than me, and her son is in his second year at Tama Art University. Her first husband was sent to work in Ghana and died of an illness a few months later. Her next two partners were all interested in her money.
