About This Novel
Conan Doyle died in 1933. His main literary achievement is the creation of the literary image of Sherlock Holmes. Although his works lack profound and real social significance, due to their logical logic, thrilling and fascinating plots, ups and downs of structure, and vivid characters, they involved the social reality of Britain at that time, and even became popular in Europe and had a wide influence in the world. Regarding his artistic achievements, the famous British novelist Somerset Maugham once said: "Compared with "The Complete Works of Sherlock Holmes" written by Conan Doyle, no detective novel has ever enjoyed such a high reputation."
