About This Novel
"Bekins' Special Mission" is a fable novel about "imagination" and "truth". Bekins is a major in an army tank battalion. After a private banquet between the general and the king, he was sent to a border town with the apparent task of helping the local economy develop. As soon as he arrived in the town, he encountered many incredible things, such as the silence of the entire town, the bridge that was only fifteen meters long but could not reach the end, and the diary he wrote the night before magically disappeared the next day. He was placed in the town government compound and served as the first deputy mayor. The only people who had contact with him were the office director Jijiga, the security director Totoka, and the cook Lola who served him. The mayor who should be the first to meet him never showed up. The mystery begins with the appearance of the mayor's daughter Selina, followed by the "small town case" of Hu Litu, the husband of the cook Lola. All the problems seem to be Hu Li trying to uncover the secrets of the town. In the process of searching for the truth about Hu Litu's case, the major always gets "Rashomon"-like results. From this, the major begins to suspect that there is a secret behind his mission in the town. Everyone and everything in the town has a mysterious secret behind it, but everyone seems to be guarding a secret. In the process of searching for the truth, although Selina was nowhere to be seen, she always had true feelings for the major. The Major believes in true love, but he can only escape it through doubt. Eventually, the major was hospitalized after an accident. When he was dying, two people came to his bedside. He heard their conversation and thought he got the truth. But he was surprised to find that it was still an illusion. Where the "truth" lies has become a mystery!
