About This Novel

This book is edited by Zhang Li, a professor at the School of Liberal Arts of Beijing Normal University, and selects the representative works of nine outstanding essayists: Baoerji Yuanye, Lei Pingyang, Li Jingze, Li Juan, Li Xiuwen, Liu Liangcheng, Siren, Zhang Tianyi, and Zhou Xiaofeng, showing the achievements of contemporary prose in the past twenty years. Each writer's work is followed by Professor Zhang Li's interpretation of the article to enhance readers' understanding. The title of the book "I Recognize the Storm" is taken from Rilke's "Premonition". Zhang Li used it to express her feelings when reading the works of these nine writers.
