About This Novel
The production process and painstaking effort of this book are no less than that of Jimmy's picture book. Three years ago, we started talking about making this book and studied the structure. More than two years ago, we began to record his creative thoughts with Jimmy through question and answer interviews. We discussed and recorded in the coffee shop every two weeks. Jimmy often laughed and said: "What should I do? I have forgotten." After more than two years of intermittently compiling, the tone of the compiled content was too much like an interview, so Jimmy wrote it all again. Friends who know Jimmy should know that he would rather draw a hundred pictures in exchange for a task that requires him to write a hundred words, and you will know what kind of hard work it is. When you are an editor, you have to be both encouraging and helpful in organizing. It is much harder than editing a picture book. Oh no, editing a picture book is another level of terrifying. But just like Jimmy said, creators always ask for trouble. I hope this little book, where we destroy each other and find trouble for ourselves, can make everyone understand and like picture books better, and then it will all be worth it.
