About This Novel

"Empty Mountain" describes six stories that took place in a Tibetan village called Ji Village from the late 1950s to the early 1990s. There are nearly 30 main characters. This book is composed of two parts: "Drifting in the Wind" and "Sky Fire". "Drifting in the Wind" tells the story of the illegitimate son Gera who depended on his somewhat demented mother, suffered humiliation, and finally died unjustly. "Sky Fire" tells the story of the wizard Duoji who saw various changes in the surrounding world during the Cultural Revolution during a forest fire.

I accidentally saw a novel by Alai. I happened to not read this one, so I added it.

freedom of belief

If you look at the problem from different perspectives, your feelings will be different. Respecting a person means not only respecting his personal freedom, but also respecting his freedom of belief.

A very good work. I really like it.

A very good work. I especially like the author's exploration of human nature and faith. In the next few years, this work will play a role as a historical record.

I don't know why it feels like the traces of the story are very heavy. Can feel the author's intention. Personally, I still like articles with unremarkable storylines. Like Wang Zengqi's article, he just talks about stories around him. Although human comedy has a plot, it feels like the characters' personalities are very prominent, and the plot feels like a stage set for the characters. Lu Xun's novels and essays, such as Sanwei Shuwu Baicaoyuan, Black and White Impermanence, Society Opera, and characters such as Runtu Xianglin's sister-in-law Ah Q, are all beyond the plot. The characters in the second part of the book are thinner, but Dansang in the first part, will there be a continuation in the second part? Otherwise, it seems that there is no explanation.
