About This Novel
In New York in 1949, in an unheated apartment in Manhattan, the thirty-three-year-old poor writer Helen accidentally saw an advertisement for a London second-hand bookstore. With a reckless impulse, she began to write to this London address. It took twenty years to write this. Many years later, the collection of her correspondence with this bookstore has been called the "bibliophile's bible" and continues to be interpreted. The address of that bookstore, 84 Charing Cross Street, has become a secret code among book lovers around the world. For more than thirty years, people have read, written, and performed it, greeting each other and warming each other in this legend.

84 Charing Cross Monologue
It is undeniable that I thought of reading this book after reading Fuji Love Letters. I want to monologue, but no one listens. This is the most distressing thing for me. I have to say that I was suffering a lot during these days when there was no sunshine and vitality. My world is equivalent to being in a dark room with no sunlight coming in from the window, which makes me suffocated. I want to use my pen to express my inner monologue and communicate with you. I know that this is very abrupt. Would you like to?
Is there anyone who would like to write to me?
I don't have many stories, and my literary talent is not very good, but this same fast-paced life makes people busy; and you, a stranger, are you willing to write to me; shine a light in the bustling city and write your and my own stories.
It is a wonderful thing for us now to write letters. Just hope it must be sincere!
Now that we have mobile phones in this era, we no longer have that feeling of writing letters. "In the past, carriages and horses were very slow, letters were far away, and there was only enough time to love one person in a lifetime."
Leave your address and I would like to write to you
I want to write random sentences and share stories and emotions with someone I have never met. Leave your address.
Room 31-10, Building 2, Jinzhu Fuda City, Banan District, Chongqing Liu Yating 15803006591 Friends in real life are drifting apart, and there are no books. I look forward to hearing from you.
The first time I learned about this book was through the movie North West 2. Excellent work, beautiful story.
Letters are slow, but the process of waiting is beautiful. There are different emotions from writing, sending and receiving letters. In reality, you can obviously communicate with the right person through text messages, but you will find that there are always some people who always have endless topics to talk to you when they are with you, but you don't know what to talk about online. Maybe it's just like this that we chose to put our joys, sorrows and sorrows into a small envelope, put it in a green leather box and mail it to an unknown place in the clouds, waiting expectantly for the other party's reply, just like in the past, the carriage and horse were very slow, and there was only enough time to love one person in a lifetime...🍁
A letter from the other side of the ocean, a lasting and pure friendship, nothing to do with romance, just sincerity. His strict gentleman, her humor and erudition, the mystery of never meeting, and romantic conversations linger in the old bookstore filled with the fragrance of wood. The sun shone through the dusty air on the old gentleman sitting at the counter writing. There sat our Mr. Frank Derr. ?
