The writing style is like a children's book. I like the solution of Alice in 13 and 5, but I don't like the ending.
The protagonist in this book is a ten-year-old girl with the same name as the protagonist in the fairy tale, but she has a different dream. She is not an innocent and cute little princess like Alice in the fairy tale
Finished reading
The 10-year-old Alice's problem-solving ability is not very good. I can only say that it is quite interesting. Maybe it would be better if it was a comic book. Wonderful twist at the end
Alice's vanity in trying to solve a bizarre case outweighs her sense of justice in bringing the truth to the victim. I really like the contradictions in this setting
If we were deceived by the illusion created by Hayasaka at the beginning, it would be easy to mistakenly think that Alice is just a child with some cleverness but no other problems. But this is not the case.
If there was no last chapter, I would give full marks
The emotional impact of the penultimate chapter is indeed very strong. People who read it were shocked, and their thoughts were probably "No, the author didn't really write it like this." Then if you think about it carefully, it is normal to stop at the end of the penultimate chapter, and there is a lot of foreshadowing. Apart from the ethical feeling, there is no problem. But after adding the last chapter, the whole book felt mediocre. It's probably just outrageous.
There don't seem to be many other works by Hayasaka Misato on qq. I suggest you check out The Chamber of Secrets of the Two Snakes if you see mine.
