A Rough and Unclear Warning Letter About the Phantom Thief: the Incident Book of the Special Case Investigation Section of the National Police Agency
About This Novel
The unactivated secret room device, the blurry notice letter with a vague time, and the clear comparison of murder, are three shoddy cases. Cang Zhichun, the author of "The Murder at Xingjiang Villa", challenges "imperfect crime". Sosuke Kijima yearned for a stable civilian career, so he passed the highly competitive civil service examination and joined the National Police Agency. However, on the first day he was sent to the peculiar "Special Case Investigation Section of the National Police Agency" as an accompanying officer. The "Special Case Investigation Division of the National Police Agency" is composed of famous detectives with eccentric personalities. Once a case occurs, the famous detective will show up at the crime scene accompanied by the police and solve the puzzle with ease, and the reward will be paid on a daily basis. The anticlimactic secret room crime, the vague Phantom Thief trailer, the nondescript murder simulation... Kijima thought he was not suitable for this job, but he had no choice but to bite the bullet and partner with famous detectives with strong personalities to solve "imperfect" crimes one after another.

It might be better if you start a long series
The characters of several detectives are quite interesting, but every time it is Lern Temple who solves the case, I don't quite understand the significance of the appearance of other detectives. In fact, the role of the male protagonist seems to be basically non-existent. In most cases, he just acts as a lubricant between the detectives with personality and the tough detectives. The number of cases in the whole story is too small, and the combination of Lern Temple and the male protagonist is too common. If the male protagonist partners with many different types of detectives to solve cases, different chemical effects may be produced, which is a pity.
