About This Novel
Another important work by Han Jiang after "The Vegetarian". The protagonist "I" of the story once had a sister who died young. "I" remember her as a "child as white as a half-moon cake". This book begins with the memory of my sister and describes 63 white things in daily life. It expresses our mourning for the death of the most precious, pure and simple things in life. It is a novel, but also like a prose poem with beautiful words.

Something to think about, something to think about, something to hope for, something to pity on
There are two adjectives for white in Korean: "하얀" and "흰". Different from the former, which is as white as cotton candy, the latter is bleakly permeated with life and death.
I can't explain it, but at a certain moment, I was suddenly moved
