About This Novel

This book is the sequel to Yamashiro Asako's Edo Ghost Stories, and contains a total of 9 short stories. This time, in addition to Izumi Wakoan and his servant Otohiko, the protagonist of the novel also has a girl who appeared in the first book - Rin. The three of them were still traveling to hot spring resorts again and again, getting lost and separated again and again, and experiencing all kinds of strange things. Lun met the Cyclops "Otaro" who was very good at blacksmithing and was not afraid of high temperatures; Eryan picked up an emerald ring on the beach and put it on his hand, but couldn't take it off and was almost dragged into the sea; the three passed by a strange village with many strange remains on the ground... Every adventure pointed to the unfathomable place in people's hearts.

Yamashiro Asako is indeed a genius, although I prefer to call him Otoichi.

This book "My Cyclos" is really wonderful. I read it together with "The Story of the Embryo". The protagonists of the stories are the same, so they can be regarded as sister books. This is the most exciting ghost story I have ever seen in my life. I have read Koizumi Yakumo's "Ghost Story" before, but I found it very boring. It was like a legend passed down from generation to generation, with nothing new. Yiyi made up all his strange stories by himself, with his own creativity, which makes people feel very surprised and bright. This book is composed of several short stories, some are tender, some are dark, and some are scary. However, after reading Matsuda Shinzo's books, I feel that they are not actually that scary. The worst thing in the book is Er Yan, almost all strange things happen to him, which is quite pitiful, although sometimes it is entirely his own death. I was blind and didn't read this book earlier.
