About This Novel
"Autumn in Spring" is a novel written by Ba Jin based on the social reality of Quanzhou at that time. It tells a sad and touching love story: a middle school teacher named Lin fell in love with his female student Zheng Peirong in Quanzhou. However, they were strongly opposed by the girl's father and they fled to Gulangyu Island in Xiamen. However, their love could not be tolerated by feudal ethics. After a short period of happiness, Zheng Peirong returned to Quanzhou at the urging of his mother. From then on, there was no news, and he finally died in a marriage arranged by his parents.
