About This Novel
This book is a collection of short stories, the eighth in the series. Most of the stories recorded in the book were collected from the notebooks of Holmes' old partner Dr. Watson. When these stories were published, Holmes was living in seclusion in the countryside of England, living a comfortable life, and wanted to completely retire from his detective career. However, due to the outbreak of the Germanic War, Holmes returned to the world to contribute to the British Empire and perform extraordinary experiences.
