About This Novel

The book is divided into upper, middle and lower parts. The first part is a general introduction to philosophy and art, which respectively explores the nature of "history of the mind" and the literary value of classics and philosophical writings in Jing, Zi and Ji, the philosophical and literary nature of the writing style of "Historical Records", the rhetorical phenomenon and its philosophical basis manifested in "The Three Changes", and the similarities between Heidegger's poetic proposition "poetically dwelling" and Zhuangzi's philosophical proposition "happy wandering". The middle part is a study of cross-cultural literary theory, using Qian Zhongshu's so-called "Books of the Two Wests" to connect the art of China and the earth, and carefully studying the poetic categories of "poetic flavor", "synesthesia", "speed" and "distance", and the last chapter discusses in detail the paradigmatic significance of poetic style. The next part is a new theory of classical literature. The first chapter analyzes two poems of "Magpies Stepping on the Branches", and then analyzes Li Yu's poems, Lu You's poems, Zheng Guanying's poems, "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms", one of the four great books of the Ming Dynasty, and "The Peony Pavilion", a pair of classical operas. In general, this book focuses on both theoretical research and textual interpretation, and attempts to connect literature and history, and combine China and the West to examine Chinese aesthetic culture and literary literature.
