Dune 2: Dune Savior (2024 New Supplementary and Revised Edition)
About This Novel
"Dune 2: Dune Saviors" is the sequel to "Dune". "Dune" is on every "must-read" book list, the ultimate classic of science fiction! The Hugo Award and Nebula Award-winning work won the title of "20th Century Science Fiction" from Locus Magazine! Every time human beings face up to their own insignificance, it is a huge progress for themselves. Twelve years ago, a war shook the entire universe and killed tens of billions of people, but it also brought about a new order and put Paul Atreides on the altar. When the enthusiasm for war gradually subsided, cold practical problems gradually emerged: external opposition forces colluded with each other, the power struggle within the empire intensified, and the throne had no successor. Under internal and external troubles, the rule of the empire was in danger. Standing above thousands of people, Paul faced an even crueler fate.

The Fremen regard Elya as a demigod heroine in Earth legends. Her duty is to protect the Fremen race with her violent magic. She is the Holy Mother of Holy Mothers. To pilgrims who hoped to use her powers to restore male fertility and conceive children in infertile women, she was the antithesis of Mentat, for she demonstrated that all "analysis" had its limits. She is a representative of infinite balance, a mixture of a virgin and a prostitute: both clever and rude, and as destructive as a sandstorm.
As the first science fiction book I read, I have no faults whatsoever. As I slowly unfolded the fate between Arrakis and the protagonist Paul, I couldn't help but gradually fell into the realistic world of Dune, with distillation suits, laser guns, ornithopters, shielding fields and the creator Xahulu. When Paul became emperor and the outbreak of the Holy War, he was completely pushed to the forefront, forcing him to face challenges and threats from all sides. In the end, he succeeded and left behind two children. However, he disappeared into the desert. I don't know if he's still alive, but I really hope he comes back.
Spices, like all sacred things, are given with one hand and taken back with the other. It prolongs life, and even veterans can use it to predict the future. But it can also turn you into an addict, and the sign of it is eyes like yours - all blue, with no white at all. Your eyes, your visual organs, become one without contrast, looking only blue.
Hope swirled in Paul's heart like a wild wind. He walked across the yard. It was a dark, gloomy place with a depressing, nauseating smell. The atmosphere of this courtyard made him cringe.
By Fremen standards, the place was sparsely decorated, with only curtains hanging on two walls. A man sat facing the door on a crimson cushion. Behind a door on the left, a woman's figure swayed on the unadorned wall.
Muad'Dib left Alia, Leave the womb that gave birth to heaven! Holy, holy, holy! Enemies as vicious as fire and sand unite Against our Lord. He can see, Even without eyes! Even if the devil brings disaster! Holy, holy, holy! This difficult mystery, He untied it. Become a devotee!
Power has its limits, and even the most powerful cannot exceed this limit without harming themselves. The art of government is to determine where this limit lies. Abuse of power is a mortal sin. The law is not a tool for revenge. You can't threaten anyone with it and not accept the consequences.
For our purposes, let's borrow for a moment the view of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood, which sees the world as a reservoir of genes, a source of teachings and mentors, and a source of infinite possibilities. Our goal is not to dominate, but to change these genes, to learn, to free ourselves from all dependence and domination.
The history of the Dunes is fascinating, both because of its desert nature and because it is the birthplace of the Fremen.
Haite suddenly felt as if he was in a dream, controlled by someone else's consciousness. He should probably forget about this for a while and let other people's consciousness coerce him.
