Black Jungle Task Force
by Yao Wanmin
About This Novel
In May 1944, in order to cooperate with the Allied operations in northern Burma and Southeast Asia and open up the Burma Highway, the support channel for China's anti-Japanese battlefield, the Chinese anti-Japanese army started the Western Yunnan counterattack with Tengchong as the main attack direction and Songshan and Longling as feint attacks. After the Japanese occupied Songshan, they spent two years building strong and complex combat fortifications. As a result, the anti-Japanese troops who attacked Songshan were blocked by Japanese bunkers and suffered heavy casualties. While the front lines were fighting, the anti-Japanese army organized multiple task forces to conduct sneak attacks deep into the enemy's defensive positions. With the close cooperation between our party's underground organization and the Kuomintang military intelligence personnel, and with the support of the people in western Yunnan, the indestructible Japanese Songshan main fortress was wiped out. The Chinese anti-Japanese army completely annihilated the Songshan defenders and opened the Burma Highway, laying the foundation for the overall victory of the western Yunnan counterattack.
