The Rwandan Crisis: a History of the Genocide
About This Novel
This book is dedicated to my two Rwandan colleagues, Jean-Népomucène Nkurikiyimfura and Jean Rumiya. The former is a Tutsi and the latter is a Hutu in an inter-ethnic marriage. Both are excellent and young historians with unlimited futures. Nkuliki Imfula was not involved in politics and accepted the pre-violent Habyarimana regime. Rumia was actively involved in politics. As the Habyarimana regime gradually moved to extremes, some intellectuals began to advocate for the regime, and Rumia also joined this camp for a time. However, Rumia later came to his senses, became righteous, and opposed the killings that were about to be carried out by the crazy extremist forces. Two people were tragically killed during the genocide. During that special period, some of their colleagues flattered the very demons they should have denounced, but they upheld the integrity and dignity of our profession.
