About This Novel

One sunny afternoon at the end of June, after a long day's work, I got off my carriage in Portman Square and walked to my friend's house in Baker Street. He was not at home, but the landlady said he would come back for afternoon tea, so I sat down and waited for him. I was not the only visitor that afternoon, for I found a business card left on the table, with the words "Mark Pringle, Manager, Kendi Tea Importing Company, Block A, 37 T-Street, Abbey" printed in gold letters. On the back was also printed the words "This shop relies only on the quality of its products for promotion", with a sentence added in pencil below: "If you have an urgent need, please come and visit us another day."
