About This Novel
This book is adapted from a true story about a girl who was once tortured and locked in a closet by her stepmother. When she grew up, she began to work hard to change her destiny and become an extraordinary mother. Many years later, she still remembers the closet where her stepmother locked her up. She used a burlap mop to make the most beautiful rag doll, and kept telling herself: "When I grow up, I will have many children. I will try my best to give them all the kindness I did not get." She has not forgotten the heavy housework, beatings and insults in the past, nor has she forgotten the violation of her by her grandfather. For many years, "family" did not give her any warmth. However, this extraordinary woman found her own path to happiness. She said goodbye to her past misfortunes and became a model mother. This moving testimony provides us with an example of courage and resilience, while also offering hope.
