About This Novel
Chekhov is a world-class master of short stories in Russia and the last critical realist art master in Russia in the late 19th century. Together with the French writer Maupassant and the American writer O. Henry, he is known as one of the "three major short story writers in the world". This collection collects 8 short stories. "About Love" is related to "The Man in the Trap" and "Gooseberry". Through a love tragedy, it reveals the fearful character that harms others and ourselves. "Chameleon" tells the story of a policeman who repeatedly changes his mind about a case, mocking the "snobbery" of the old society. "Old Age" writes about the "strange relationship" between people in the old Russian era.
