About This Novel

Cheng Ju was born in Kaihua, Quzhou (now Zhejiang) in the Northern Song Dynasty. "Beishan Xiaoji" has forty volumes, including 674 poems and 527 articles. The style of poetry is fresh, ancient and unique, while the style of writing is rich and varied, which is of great reference value for studying the literature and history of the Song Dynasty. This time the proofreading is based on the Song Dynasty edition collected by Huang Pilie (i. E., The Continuation of the Four Books Series) as the base, and the Ming manuscript, the Qing manuscript, the Qing Jin family's Wenruilou manuscript, and the Wenyuange "Siku" edition as reference copies. The appendices include the original biography of Xingzhuang, preface and postscript, "Chronology of Mr. Cheng Beishan" written by Ye Weiqing, and version descriptions.
