Li Er is constantly committed to the study of literature, art and literary theory, and is able to understand and grasp the essence of literature and art from the origin of calligraphy. It is precisely this profound knowledge and profound literary skills that make Li Er's works glow with an extraordinary and elegant beauty, which is pleasing to the eye and enjoyable to taste.
Li Er's collection of short stories is a concentrated display of intellectuals. The novel continues Li Er's consistent humor and uses absurd writing style to show the miracles contained in daily life. The irony of the love between children is even more clever, especially the final twist, which fully demonstrates the absurdity in daily life.
The full-length novel Coloratura takes the search for the protagonist Ge Ren as the basic clue and solves the mystery of Ge Ren's life and death as the structural center. It describes Ge Ren's life circumstances, political pursuits and love experiences in his short life, and tells the story of his personal destiny in historical turmoil. The most distinctive feature of the novel is that it uses the oral accounts of three parties and a large number of quotations to complete the narrative. There are many characters in the book with different temperaments and identities. They narrate this historical mystery in different tones, which is meaningful and triggers our experience and thinking about history and reality, truth and fiction, memory and forgetting, chatter and silence, and other living conditions.
Li Er's works are full of formal innovation, spatial tension and delicate description of characters unique to literature. They are a rare literary landscape in today's literary world.
The more I read Li Er's works, the more I feel that he was greatly influenced by Ge Fei. Through this collection, it is not difficult to see that Li Er is getting better and better as he writes, and is a good writer who keeps making progress.
