About This Novel

This book is a collection of critical essays, divided into three volumes. The first volume is an overall analysis of literary phenomena and creative trends in the new century. Through an overall overview and analysis of the current situation of novel creation after the 1970s and 1980s, it reveals the development trends and changes in the art of novels in the new century from the perspectives of generations, elegance, and style. This is a comprehensive study on the formation of literary patterns, hot literary phenomena, and changes in novel creation. The second series is an annual literary review. Taking one year as a cycle, it cuts into the live scene of Chinese literature in the past six years, and selects representative works from literary journals of that year for research and review. While revealing the development rules of literary creation and new aesthetic trends, it also investigates the problems of literary creation from the comprehensive analysis of annual novels, especially points out the imbalances prevalent in current creation, and provides a clear map for understanding and observing the development trend of Chinese literature in recent years. The third volume is my opinion on criticism. The first four articles in this collection are dedicated to the construction of a poetic critical aesthetics. The next two articles combine the criticism scene to elaborate on the refinement of the level of criticism and the lack and progress of the critical spirit. Among them, there are not only the presentation of the author's own critical stance and critical concepts, but also the call for the ideal state of literary criticism. Of course, there is also no lack of reflection on the current status of criticism.
