About This Novel

Qian Qianyi (1582~1664) was an essayist and poet in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The courtesy name was Shouzhi, his nickname was Muzhai, and his later nicknames were Mengsou and Dongjian Yilao. Changshu people. In the thirty-eighth year of Wanli (1610), he was a Jinshi. In the first year of Chongzhen (1628), he was appointed as the Minister of Rites and a Bachelor of the Imperial Academy. In the Hongguang Dynasty of the Southern Ming Dynasty, he was the Minister of the Ministry of Rites. After becoming an official in the Qing Dynasty, he took charge of the secretarial affairs as the Minister of Rites and served as the vice president of the "History of the Ming Dynasty". He first studied poetry in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, and later studied extensively from famous writers in the Tang and Song Dynasties.
