
About This Novel
Cao Duoyong, born in 1962, works for the Huainan Federation of Literary and Art Circles in Anhui Province. He has published several novels in "People's Literature", "Contemporary", "October", "Chinese Writers" and other magazines, and his works have been selected by "Selected Novels", "Xinhua Digest", "Selected Chinese Literature", "Selected Novels" and "Novel Monthly". The novel "Beautiful Village" (co-authored with others) won the "Five Ones" Project Award of the 10th (2003-2006) Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The novella "Good Days" won the 2003-2004 Anhui Literature Award. The short stories "Subsidence Area" and "These Days Should Be Calm as Water" won the 4th and 5th National Coal Mine Literature Wujin Awards respectively. He is the author of the novels "Dahewan" and "Looking for Work". In 2004, he graduated from the Third Advanced Seminar for Young and Middle-aged Writers of Lu Xun Institute of Literature. It is a God-given instinct that creates a natural interdependence among the members of the human family, creating in each person a wonderful sense of belonging.
