"The Wings of the Dove" is one of Henry James's controversial novels. It is listed as the "final trilogy" along with "The Envoy" and "The Golden Bowl". It is also the pinnacle of James's novel art. In 1998, "The Wings of the Dove" was ranked 26th among the "Top 100 English Novels of the 20th Century" by Modern Library. A pair of desperate mandarin ducks who do anything to seize wealth, an innocent girl with a lot of wealth and a serious illness, a deformed love triangle, when the innocent, rich, and democratic United States meets the ancient, decadent, and degenerate Europe, what kind of contradiction will arise between the two cultures. Kate Croy, who comes from an ordinary family, and journalist Morton Dash, are a pair of financially strapped British lovers. After Milly came to England, her huge wealth attracted all kinds of people to come to her. Some were sincere and some had evil intentions. Young Milly saw the complex hearts of ancient Europe. Soon, Milly became terminally ill and learned of Kate's plan before she died: She tried to get Morton close to Milly to defraud her of her property. In the end, Millie left Morton a huge sum of money and passed away. Can Kate and Morton get the wealth and live the life they longed for?
