About This Novel

According to data, there were no prisoner-of-war camps for Chinese prisoners of war during the Sino-Japanese War. Chinese prisoners of war were all directly killed or sent to do coolies. The only prisoner of war camp was in Shenyang, which only held European and American prisoners of war. The story took place in early 1940, three years after the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, during the tug-of-war period between China and Japan. Eight prisoners of war, led by Lei Zi, successfully escaped from the Japanese prisoner-of-war camp and entered the huge virgin forest mountains next to the prisoner-of-war camp. With joy and anxiety about the unknown future, the prisoners of war continued to go deeper into the forest, but what greeted them was a series of strange encounters: an environment without living creatures; unusually long days and nights; pools full of carrion; vampire monsters lurking around; and a creature that should not appear in the primitive world. The mysterious organization that does exist in the forest... Shao De, a puppet army officer in the prisoner of war camp, led several Japanese non-commissioned officers and a platoon of puppet troops into the forest. Various strange phenomena they encountered also followed: there was a mysterious loss of contact with the outside world; soldiers died and disappeared one after another. Following the escape route of the prisoners of war, more and more unexplainable mysteries emerged. During the pursuit, Shao De discovered that the entire prisoner of war escape incident was surprisingly similar to another incident that also occurred in the prisoner of war camp three years ago! And almost despairingly realized that he was inextricably linked to all of this. Even he, Lei Zi, a prisoner of war who is being hunted, and Cao Zheng, a prisoner of war who also escaped from the prisoner of war camp three years ago, are slowly reuniting...

I just read Chapter 3, where a few people are hiding in a prisoner of war camp, and the underwater corpses really disgusted me, but overall it's not bad.
