About This Novel
This article tells the story of Li Dakuan who was troubled because the TV remote control could not be used. Li Dakuan, a villager living in a remote blind village, had a peaceful life. With the access to electricity and roads in the village, home appliances also entered his life. However, the newly purchased LCD TV could not function properly due to signal problems, so his son installed a satellite receiver for him. Although the TV could be watched, Li Dakuan accidentally crushed the remote control of the receiver, and the universal remote control he purchased later became unusable because he could not operate it. Li Dakuan sought help in many ways to no avail, including asking for help from the elderly in the village, passing drivers and vegetable sellers, but none of them could solve the problem. His persistence and anxiety gradually affected his daily life, even causing him to become trance-like and behave abnormally. In the end, Li Dakuan's wife proposed to wait until the children were on summer vacation before finding someone to help debug it, and to use a radio instead. The story ends with Li Dakuan reluctantly accepting the status quo, but fully expecting his children to return from vacation, leaving a suspense: whether Li Dakuan can successfully solve the TV problem and restore the peace of life in the past.
