Long Farewell
About This Novel
This book won the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Novel (1954) and is also Chandler's masterpiece. The author's ambition and self-revelation resonate extremely strongly with the protagonist, the noble detective Marlowe. The story revolves around a love-murder case that everyone in New York's upper class wants to cover up, but Marlowe insists on pursuing it to the end. The underworld, the white street, the political world and the police are performing scenes of entanglement, filth and depravity. As the truth approached, Marlowe realized that from the moment he was involved in this conspiracy, he was saying the longest goodbye to this double betrayal of friendship and love.

Rarely fascinating, profound, and concisely written
A book with a shining detective personality
It doesn't seem as exciting as a mystery novel, but the author wants to express a lot of values.
Love mystery novels
The first novel I read in 2018. I used to read mystery novels by Keigo Higashino. The first time I read Chandler, I was deeply attracted by the first chapter. I still have a soft spot for mystery novels.
Very good book
It's over, it's over, it's over.
Nice,,,,
Double Betrayal? It's interesting and a novel worth reading!
