"Pillow" is a collection of Seishonagon's essays. It has 305 paragraphs in total and is divided into three categories: collection, diary, and random thoughts. It writes about the natural scenery of the four seasons, the aristocratic elegance of the Heian period, interesting things in daily life, and the fleeting beauty of all natural things, etc. It is Seishonagon who uses casual, delicate, and poetic writing to record "what he sees with his own eyes and thinks in his heart." The whole work is written in an elegant style, full of taste and philosophy, and presents the bright and free life attitude of Qing Shao Na. "Pillow Grass" was written around 1001. It was the first of Japanese essay literature. It is one of the "Three Great Essays of Japan" together with "The Book of the Hojo" and "Takuranso".
