About This Novel
"The Legend of Ghosts and Gods" is based on the edition published in the 7th year of Xianfeng Dynasty (1857) in the Capital Library. The author is not mentioned in the book. Sun's statement that "the author is from Guangdong" should be inferred from the fact that most of the stories took place in Guangdong. The book contains twelve stories, one story is played in one episode, and the same storyteller is acted out in several episodes. Liu calls it "a small pocket book."
