About This Novel
"Selected Collection of Cultural and Historical Materials" was initiated in 1959 by Comrade Zhou Enlai's personal initiative and initiated by the Cultural and Historical Materials Research Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. It is an album of historical materials that vividly records the magnificent historical process of Chinese society since the Reform Movement of 1898, featuring "personal experience, personal sighting and personal hearing" of the parties involved. Volume 167 contains 13 articles. These include: Fan Xiaojian, member of the 11th and 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former director of the Office of the State Council Leading Group for Poverty Alleviation and Development, reminiscing about the cleanup and rectification of the Rural Cooperation Foundation; Wu Sike, member of the 11th and 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former China's plenipotentiary representative to the League of Arab States, recalling his diplomatic work in the Middle East, etc. These precious historical materials reveal many little-known inside stories, helping readers understand the ins and outs of many historical events.
