About This Novel
This book is the result of the interpretation and compilation of 13 Sogdian documents unearthed in Hotan (ancient Khotan), Xinjiang, which were collected by the Museum of Renmin University of China in 2010. This batch of documents is not only the largest batch of Sogdian documents published in China in recent years, but is also of great research interest. The contents of the documents include economic documents, letters and other secular documents, dating from about the end of the 8th century, and provide important reference materials for understanding the Sogdian barbarians from Central Asia who were active in the four towns of Anxi at the end of the Tang Dynasty's rule in the Western Regions.
