About This Novel

Professor Rosen has a wide range of interests in Chinese culture, including ancient Chinese bronzes and jades, as well as the later revival of bronzes. She pays attention to the role of "sets" of bronze ware in the ritual procedures of the Shang and Zhou dynasties. This theory is very effective in exploring the development of bronze ware. In terms of jade, Professor Rosen's contribution mainly focused on the preservation and reuse of ancient jade in the later period. For example, many reused ancient jade were discovered in the tomb of Fuhao in the Shang Dynasty. In recent years, Professor Rosen has mainly focused on research on the development of Chinese tomb structures, trying to show how ancient tombs were understood by tomb owners and builders. She explores the evolution of monolithic burial forms in early China (from the Shang to Han dynasties), and also focuses on China's exchanges with inland Asia. Professor Rosen is also committed to some recent projects, such as organizing the "Prosperity of the Prosperity - Three Dynasties of Emperors Kang, Yong and Qian" art exhibition in London to recreate China's three dynasties and its rich artistic connotation to Western society. In her research on recent Chinese art, she has a special interest in the use of "decoration", focusing on the comparative study of the decorative traditions of Western culture and Far Eastern culture, thereby revealing the important cultural differences and similarities between the two regions.
