This book belongs to one of the series of "Japan's Modern Frontier Survey of China and its Documentary Research" and was funded by the 2016 National Publishing Fund project. This book is translated from the 1931 Japanese edition of "Mongolia as Seen in Folklore" (the Japanese title is "Folklore Study of Mongolia", considered a classic of fieldwork by Japanese academic circles), and is a historical work in the nature of a travelogue. The book records in the form of a diary the author's fieldwork in Mongolian areas from June 1906 to December 1908. The content includes language nursery rhymes, human customs, business and economy, cultural relics, etc. It has good historical value for understanding the human customs of the Mongolian people a century ago and the natural features of the Mongolian areas.
